UFO Crash in North Texas, 1891

When dozens of people in Erath County, Texas spotted a half mile-long UFO in the skies above them in January 2008, a couple of area residents turned to local history books for clues about what happened. Located 80 miles southwest of Fort Worth, the neighboring towns of Stephenville and Dublin lie in the very midst of what has been, historically, a hotbed for UFO activity. In fact, it has recently come to light that 56 years before the famous Roswell, New Mexico UFO crash of 1947, the tiny town of Dublin was the site of a Roswell-like event, involving an aerial explosion of a UFO, followed by the discovery of strange debris containing mysterious, undecipherable writing.

Saturday, June 13, 1891, was a quiet summer day in Dublin, which had a population of just over 2,000 people. One of town’s major industries, the Wasson & Miller flour mill and cotton gin, had already wound down operations for the week. As evening came, a number of local residents were outdoors near the gin, walking and otherwise enjoying the leisurely summer weekend. Among the persons in the vicinity, the Dublin newspaper later reported, was an unnamed “gentleman” who witnessed an event like few others in the history of human affairs.  UFO Crash (story and photos continue on next page)

From Joyce’s Notebook:

Regarding the Sighting in Erath County Texas

I did not witness the recent UFO event near Stephenville Texas.  It appeared in the skies about 20 miles away "as the crow flies".  In fact our home is near Comanche Peak and our long time Comanche friend spoke of a "craft" that landed in the field next to his horse farm near Dublin, several times per month.  He never officially reported it, just talked to us and his other believer friends.

I spent 15 years leading expeditions of UFO researchers, various scientist types, film teams, documentary producers, and even some of our own government officials to remote areas of the world where local people would share with us accounts of their recent and sometimes ongoing paranormal experiences.  People in the Stephenville / Glen Rose areas are just as intelligent, honest, friendly, and"real" as the "real" people who are experiencing sightings all over the world.  I am happy that our local neighbors who saw are sharing what they saw and experienced.   (Note: "real" in the connotation of average, normal, good, stable)

MUFON is a very professional research organization, which is really acting "on the ball" and "Johnny on the spot" in taking early action to investigate the Stephenville sightings while fresh in the minds of the witnesses, thus still virtually unembellished.  We humans do think and act from our own bubbles of reality.  No two people when interviewed separately will quote exactly the same words or display the same emotions in describing their sighting.  A well respected researcher in Missouri once told me her experience with the ways normal individuals see or do not see and relate an event or non-event.  This very well educated lady had been investigating sightings that were appearing regularly in the same location.  She escorted 6 of her friends to the rural spot, parked, and lo and behold a large craft came down and hovered over them.  They all seemed to focus eyes and minds steadily on the sight for several minutes until the craft ascended and left them. In awe they immediately discussed the happening amongst themselves.  Five gave very similar descriptions of all details and two did not see a thing but blank skies!  You have heard the story about the first giraffe?  When that giraffe walked by this guy, he said "No, no!  Can’t be!  There is no such animal."

We all have pretty good common sense and healthy values.  On my past expeditions I have met and listened to some people who gave me concerns about hyping and possible group hysteria.  Nothing from the testimony of the Stephenville event alarms me. And perfectly normal, IMO, are the various explanations, comments on causes, rationalizations, possible responsible element, group etc.

I am getting to be an old dog now but old dogs can learn new tricks and I am trying to keep all my senses in sharp condition.  I feel that as long as we have a secure wholesome and spiritual base for our souls "the apple won't fall far from the tree."  And the tree is the center of our individual bubble or virtual reality of life.

The Sighting in Erath County Texas

by Mark Murphy

An unidentified flying object was seen in the skies of eastern Erath county Texas on Tuesday, January 8th starting about 6:15 pm by several dozen people. Most had the same description, that the object was very large and moving very fast, and being chased by two jets. One witness, Steve Allen, is a pilot and freight company operator. Mr. Allen said he is a regular, churchgoing conservative who doesn't believe in the paranormal, but he and his friends out in the pasture thought this was the beginning of Judgment Day described in the Bible. Mr. Allen's wife told him to not repeat the story, but as so many had seen it, he went straight to the local newspaper (http://empiretribune.com) which has now written several stories on the event. I contacted MUFON and got them to get with Mr. Allen. There is a MUFON inquiry set up for Saturday, January 19th, 1pm at the Erath County Livestock Arena on Hwy 281 in Stephenville.

Mr. Allen told me that the craft was a mile long and quarter mile wide (contrary to what was reported by the Associated Press). It had alternating lights and was traveling about 3000 miles per hour (yes, three thousand mph). It was being chased by two F-16 fighter jets, according to the pilot and business owner. The craft stopped about Chalk Mountain, did a U-turn and disappeared from sight. Another witness stated that the exact same thing happened in 1967 with the exact same craft description. This was reported to then Sheriff David Hale. Nothing more was reported. Many other business people, a sheriff's constable and community leaders were eye witnesses to the event last Tuesday. It is hoped that many of them will come to the MUFON inquiry in the hopes of furthering scientific discovery.

That night and all the next day the military presence seemed to be everywhere. Mr. Allen swears that a B-52 was circling the area all day, which would be the Air Force. Large, double winged helicopters landed and refueled at Stephenville airport, which would be Army. More to come....

MEXICO EXPEDITION: Oct. 26 - Nov. 2, 1996,

Was 9/11 Predicted Five Years Prior To The Attack?
The Fascinating Story of Claudio Gonzalez, the Shepherd Boy
by Joyce L. Murphy

Claudio, November 1996, Atlimiyaya, Mexico

It was the night before my planned departure to Mexico City designed to arrive 24 hours ahead of the group. I wanted to plant my feet on the ground before meeting the members of the expedition the next day at the airport. This time I felt as if I had taken on an extra responsibility—a task that I should be worrying about but yet I felt no apprehension or fear of failure. I had committed to the project of gathering UFO phenomena information to be televised!  Strange Universe, the "positive vibes" TV show about unusual and strange phenomena throughout the world, had decided at the last minute to accompany our group. They had acquired all necessary approval, etc. to join our little expedition going in search of people who have been contacted by the alien visitors.

"They [the alien visitors] said there was going to be a big war. . ."

We met several contactees during the expedition, including a young boy named Claudio, in the small town of Atlimiyaya, famous for its trout fisheries and restaurants. Claudio and a friend saw three small beings several years ago while they were herding goats. The boys were sitting along a rock ledge when suddenly a bright, intense light appeared. Claudio said he was able to see three small beings wearing tight fitting clothing. He described them as having large heads, strange faces, and no mouths. He described one of the beings as having strange markings on its head and a small beard. Claudio said the the beings spoke to him and his friend. He could hear a garbled voice within his head—possible telepathic communication. He said that the beings were there to prevent the others from erupting the volcano. The goats behaved in a very frightened manner and formed a protective circle. A month later a large beam of light from the sky lit his entire home in the evening. His father and mother were terrified and told the children to remain in the home. [as reported in the Beyond Boundaries Newsletter September 1996, by Ruben Uriarte. ". . .the next world war would take place in New York City."
